He's been a superstar for more than 40 years, but former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant has managed to remain artistically viable and critically adored. Having released a new LP, Band of Joy, last September, the tireless singer has now expanded his 2011 tour plans.
Plant is currently on the road in North America, with two Toronto shows coming up this weekend. In the spring, he will embark upon another 12-date leg. This time, he will kick things off in the U.S. before heading to the West Coast for a string of shows that includes a performance in Vancouver at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on April 17.
On the outing, Plant will be backed by the same band that appeared on Band of Joy, including Americana veteran Patty Griffin on vocals. See the schedule below.
Don't go expecting Plant to play through the Led Zeppelin hits of old. Speaking about his former band, the singer recently told Rolling Stone, "I've gone so far somewhere else that I almost can't relate to it."
