Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea has joined La La Land director Damien Chazelle's 1920s Hollywood-themed movie, Babylon.

The musician is set to revive his extensive filmography career alongside the growing roster of cast members, including Max Minghella, Samara Weaving, Rory Scovel, Lukas Haas, Eric Roberts, P.J. Byrne and Damon Gupton. They'll join the previously announced cast of Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, Diego Calva, Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li and Katherine Waterson.

Babylon is produced by Olivia Hamilton, Matt Plouffe and Marc Platt, with Tobey Maguire, Helen Estabrook and Adam Siegel serving as executive producers.

Flea and his co-stars' roles are being kept under wraps for now, as are most of the other details about Chazelle's R-rated movie. We do know the film is set in "the shifting moment in Hollywood when the motion picture industry turned from silent film to talkies," according to Deadline

Babylon is currently scheduled to be released on Christmas Day 2022.

Flea's previous acting credits include Baby Driver, Back to the Future, The Big Lebowski and, more recently, Queen & Slim
