Less than 24 hours before the Red Hot Chili Peppers reveal The Getaway, the L.A. funk-and-pop foursome have unveiled a street-riding music video for the record's "Dark Necessities."
Directed by actor Olivia Wilde (Vinyl, House), the clip first finds the assorted Chili Peppers caught between the cushions of a couch. While the foursome ultimately funk it up in a carpeted locale, another part of the video focuses on a group of skateboarders making their way through the streets of Southern California. Memorably, they bust out tricks and goof around within the almost dried-up halfpipe canal otherwise known as the Los Angeles River.
You'll find the trick-heavy display, a few banged-up knees, Anthony Kiedis dancing in his underwear, and the sight of Flea laying down a four string groove while sitting in a kitchen sink down below.
As previously reported, The Getaway sees release tomorrow (June 17) via Warner Bros. Records. The Red Hot Chili Peppers' upcoming tour schedule, which includes Canadian dates, can be found over here.
