Russian activist and art collective Pussy Riot have announced their debut mixtape Matriarchy Now, arriving August 5 on Neon Gold Records

Matriarchy Now was executive produced by Tove Lo and features Hudson Mohawke, Big Freedia, Slayyyter and more. Today's new single "Plastic" features LA rapper iLoveMakonnen and it comes attached to a Haley Bowman-directed video.

The mixtape will arrive just before the 10-year anniversary (August 17) of the Russian court conviction that shone an international spotlight on the group, when three members were sentenced to two years in prison for "hooliganism motivated by religious hatred" after staging a performance in Moscow's Cathedral of Christ the Saviour.

Pussy Riot recently hung a 45-foot "Matriarchy Now" banner from the third floor of the Texas State Capitol to protest the ongoing attack on reproductive rights. "Body autonomy is a pillar of modern civilization," they wrote in a manifesto. "There's no human rights as we know them without body autonomy taken as an axiom. People with wombs demand body autonomy. We demand our rights, we don't ask for it. Don't like abortions? Don't make them. Oh yes, and did you know? Vasectomy prevents abortions."

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Pussy Riot's Maria Alyokhina escaped from Russia to Lithuania while disguised as a food courier.
