Following some buzz built up around a leaked tour date in Edmonton, Canadian prog-metal players Protest the Hero have officially unveiled plans behind a special 10th anniversary tour in support of their 2005 debut full-length, Kezia.
The act used their webpage and social media avenues to confirm the fall trip, which will be a cross-Canada trek. As previously reported, a since-removed listing for an appearance at Edmonton's Starlite Room had labelled the November 7 concert a "KEZIA 10YR ANNIVERSARY" event.
Now, the band explain that the upcoming trip is indeed an anniversary tour, which was brought on by fan demand.
They wrote in a statement: "Ever since we put up our "portal" for people to submit their Kezia memories / experiences for our scrap book, we noticed a huge demand for us to do a run of shows where we play this bad boy front to back. So we thought to ourselves.... 'Why the frig not?'"
Making the shows even more interesting, it will be the original Protest the Hero lineup performing. Both drummer Moe Carlson, who had left the band in 2013, and bassist Arif Mirabdolbaghi, who exited the band in 2014, will return to the ranks to play Kezia tracks alongside vocalist Rody Walker and guitarists Luke Hoskin and Tim Millar.
It's noted that these are the "first Kezia 10th Anniversary shows across Canada," so there are perhaps even more dates on the way. That said, the reunited ensemble noted, "We hope you can make it out to one of these because given all of our busy schedules, this isn't going to be an ordinary occurrence."
While venue details are forthcoming, you'll find the rest of the tour routing down below.
