Early aughts electro-pop favourites the Postal Service are set to deliver a deluxe reissue of their lone LP, Give Up April 9 via Sub Pop, but you can now stream one of the edition's unreleased tracks, "A Tattered Line of String," a little early.
The speedy track bounds by on circa-Speak & Spell Depeche Mode keyboard lines and a steady kick drum thud, while Ben Gibbard drops some starry-eyed lines about sharing a secret smooch or two. As previously hinted at, Jenny Lewis sings on the track, and figures heavy on the midsection with some melodious-and-manipulated backups.
In the clip below, we see the song spinning on the countless colour vinyl pressings of the re-release. Sub Pop notes that this is "not the video," though, so perhaps a proper promotional clip will arrive closer to the set's Spring due date?
