Pile have announced plans for a new improvisational album titled In the Corners of a Sphere-Filled Room, which is due to arrive on May 7.
Featuring 14 tracks but "no songs," the album will mark the Boston band's follow-up to 2019's Green and Gray.
"This is a collection of noise we made intermittently from December 2018 to January 2021, strung together to make a little under an hour of music that we think sounds somewhat cohesive," the band wrote in a newsletter [via Consequence].
In addition to the core members' contributions, In the Corners of a Sphere-Filled Room will also feature Elisabeth Fuchsia on viola, Jane Scarpantoni on cello and guitar by Kevin S. McMahon, who assisted in recording the album at Marcata Recording.
