Pharrell Williams Scoring 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' with Hans Zimmer

Pharrell Williams has long been a sought-after collaborative partner, and that's especially true since his chart-conquering turn as Daft Punk's lead singer on "Get Lucky." Now, the Neptunes producer has announced his latest project: scoring The Amazing Spider-Man 2 with big-name Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer.

Pharrell revealed this information in an interview with Billboard. On Friday (October 25), Pharrell also posted a photo of himself with Zimmer on Facebook, writing, "Hans Zimmer is like the king of all kings. I carry his books, sharpen his pencils, get his coffee, and I listen to every punctuation that comes out of his mouth. He is a genius."

Pharrell and Zimmer have crossed musical paths before, on 2010's Despicable Me soundtrack and Zimmer's more recent Man of Steel score. By the sound of things, this latest team-up is an equal collaboration, although IMDB lists Zimmer as the film's composer and makes no mention of Pharrell.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is being directed by Marc Webb and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Jamie Foxx. According to synopses, Spidey does battle with villains Rhino and Electro. It's due out in cinemas on May 2, 2014.
