Montreal's Paul Jacobs has announced the release of his new EP, 185 on the Corner, and has released a new psychedelic folk track from the upcoming effort.

Set to come out July 8 via Bonsound, 185 on the Corner follows the release of the musician's 2021 critically acclaimed album Pink Dogs on the Green Grass.

The new single, "The Tree Outside My House," is the latest to be lifted off of the forthcoming EP, following the previously released track "After Dark." Built into three different parts, the song's chord progression is led by an uplifting beat and flowery guitar riffs that play to the tune of a gentle summer night.

Jacobs — an Exclaim! Class of 2019 grad — wrote the album during a transformative time and likewise found himself creating the collection with a mellower, more mid-tempo approach to his signature hazy soundscapes.

The multi-instrumentalist's lyrics are full of "vivid, dreamy imagery," according to a release, "capturing his feelings during that period of instability and reflecting on his emotional growth since then."
