Nottz Raw And Asher Roth

The Rawth EP

BY Mark BozzerPublished Dec 27, 2010

The Rawth EP is a new collaborative effort between Virginia-based producer/MC Nottz and collegiate rhyme-slinger Asher Roth. On paper, the pairing of the producer whom Dr. Dre cites as one of his favourites and the nerdy white boy whose subject matter focuses largely on the life of a college student seems odd, but the eight-song set delivers. Produced entirely by Nottz and featuring guest spots from Rhymefest, D.A. (of Chester French) and two T-Dot products (alterative crooner Colin Munroe and Kardinal Offishall), The Rawth EP features Roth and Nottz trading verses over his rich production. From the breezy, laidback stroll of lead single "Dontcha Wanna Be (My Neighbour)," featuring Colin Munroe, to the digital fuzz served up on "Enforce The Law," this project is the perfect example of how two people from different sides of the tracks can meet somewhere in the middle on some very dope common ground.
