NOFX

'First Ditch Effort' (album stream)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Oct 3, 2016

While long-running punkers NOFX will have their First Ditch Effort out by the end of the week, a stream of the double-kick-heavy, octave-blasting, Fat Mike-sneering collection is online to enjoy now.

The band's 13th album had previously been previewed by "Six Years on Dope" and the Big Pharma-critiquing "Oxy Moronic." Elsewhere, you've got Fat Mike singing about sobriety on "California Drought," or coming to terms with himself and his pattern of behaviour on "I Don't Like Me Anymore."

While tracks like "Dead Beat Mom" and "Ditch Effort" split the difference between punk and hardcore, "Bye Bye Biopsy Girl" has NOFX experimenting, once again, with some jazzy guitar chords and a bit of sax.

You can stream it all below, via Consequence of Sound, while First Ditch Effort officially arrives October 7 through Fat Wreck Chords. Later in the month, the band kick off a North American tour.
