Noel Gallagher Says an Oasis Reunion Would Be Like Going on Holiday with Your Ex-Missus

"Oasis sell as many records now per year as we did when we were together"

While many have stood by Oasis over the years, no breaths should be held awaiting a reunion. Aside from his constant feuding with brother Liam Gallagher, Noel Gallagher says "there's no point" in getting the groundbreaking Britpop outfit back together — they "sell as many records" now as when the band was active.

On a new episode of Pub Talk, the insult expert and enemy of the people sat down with hosts Alan and Ray to shoot the shit with the lads, as one does, and the potential of Oasis getting back together came up.

"Er, would you go on holiday with your ex-missus?" the musician bantered cheekily (again, as one does), which was naturally met with, "If she pays, I will!"

"As funny as this sounds," Gallagher continued, "Oasis sell as many records now per year as we did when we were together. We're as popular now in the eyes of the people as we ever were. And I'm happy with it."

He reiterated: "If we got back together there would be a circus — and there's no point. Just leave it as it is. I'm happy."

Referring to his brother, Gallagher added: "He's doing his thing. He's still fucking selling out Knebworth. It's like, mate, good luck to you, do you know what I mean?"

That's... surprisingly wholesome? Not the part about fans never getting to see the band live or hear new Oasis music, or the circus or whatever, but saying that about Liam is goading suspicion that the brothers' long history of being at odds is really just a PR stunt after all.

Interestingly, Liam told The Times earlier this year that he would love to get the band back together and that they "never should have split up." He added that he was quite happy doing his solo career, though, and inferred that Noel had changed, saying it's "like he's been abducted." In 2021, Noel claimed that Liam was a hologram — this is the brotherly dynamic we've come to know; a Heathen Chemistry, if you will.
