Nodes Of Ranvier

I’m really not so sure the world needs another CD like this latest from Nodes of Ranvier. Because, sure, the breakdowns pummel, the hardcore is heavy, the metallic overtones are there and, hey, are you listening to me? Wake up! I like it when the singer sounds like a barking dog in "Valijean” but apart from that, this one, hey, stop dozing off! In the title track, the band actually adopt some Swedish-sounding melodic death metal riffs and a melodic chorus! Okay, fine, I’m boring myself as well. I do kind of like the melodic but anthemic chorus in that song though, we’ll give the band that much. But it’s time for a new sound.
