No Joy Say "Fuck You" to Music Industry with New EP Series

Montreal noise pop act No Joy have already prepped a follow-up to their More Faithful LP, with plans to deliver a new three-song EP. The release is called Drool Sucker and will arrive on July 15 via Topshelf Records.

The EP was recorded by Holy Fuck's Graham Walsh and Brian Borcherdt at their barn in rural Ontario.

It's said to be the first of a series of EPs, all of which are a "fuck you" to the music industry. As a press release explains, there are specific targets for their ire:

To everyone who told them they need to play quieter, needed to show their faces more onstage, who told them they should only include the girls in the press photos; pigeonholing No Joy won't make them any easier to understand. This is no stopgap; this is a series of statements from a band that clearly are trying to defy definition.

Before the EP arrives in full, you can stream opening track "A Thorn in Garlands Side" below. No Joy also have a hefty European tour in the works. The dates are available here.

Drool Sucker:

1. A Thorn In Garlands Side
2. XO (Adam's Getting Married)
3. Theme Song
