Queen Elizabeth is celebrating her 90th birthday today (April 21), and in a seriously strange coincidence, a tribute to the royal figure set to take place at Niagara Falls now holds a second meaning for today's passing of musical icon Prince.
In a Twitter post this afternoon, Canadian travel account @CanoeTravel revealed that Niagara Falls will be illuminated in purple this evening as a celebration of Elizabeth's birthday.
Naturally, many were quick to also herald it as a de facto tribute to the life and music of the Purple One.
One of music's most unique, talented and visionary performers, Prince passed away today at the age of 57. Since the news of his death, tributes from artists and fans alike have been pouring in.
