Narcissus

Crave And Collapse

BY Sean PalmerstonPublished Mar 1, 2004

Their third album overall, this is the first I have heard of this American hardcore band and I can't say that I was impressed enough that I will look for their previous releases. Their sound has enough melody in it as to be described as non conventional and "different" from the majority of their peers, but different doesn't necessarily means good. The vocals in particular end up being quite annoying in parts. They do display an ample amount of energy, but nothing really sticks. Over an hour of music is offered: perhaps the overall quality would be better if there were a few less filler tracks included with the final product. Nothing special, this can hardly be recommended.
