MUTEK Unveils Initial 2017 Lineup

First wave of acts includes Daphni, Robert Henke, Zip, Nicola Cruz and more

MUTEK is set to return to Montreal for its 18th edition this year, taking over the city from August 22 to 27. In celebrating the arrival of their "new date, new era," festival organizers have lifted the curtain on the first batch of artists set to perform at this year's festival.

The first reveal, in alphabetical order, includes the following: Africaine 808, Alexandre Burton & Julien Roy, Anchorsong, Aurora Halal, Daphni (a.k.a Caribou's Dan Snaith), Detroit Swindle, Fis, Graham Dunning, Harvey Sutherland, Herman Kolgen, Kara-Lis Coverdale, Kuniyuki Takahashi, Marie Davidson, Michela Pelusio & Glenn Vervliet, Murcof & Jimmy Lakatos, Nicola Cruz, Robert Henke, Rroxymore, Sarah Davachi, Sculpture and Zip.

A press release reveals that MUTEK will continue to offer free music outdoors from Tuesday to Sunday on the Esplanade de la Place des Arts, while the Monument-National will serve as festival headquarters. Concert Hall Métropolis will play host to diverse and big room programming, while the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT) will host more intimate performances.
