The Music Tapes Announce "Caroling” Tour

The Music Tapes project centers upon Elephant 6 member and Neutral Milk Hotel alum Julian Koster’s experimental pop performed by unique tools like saws and instruments invented by the band.

In keeping with this desire for experimentation, the Music Tapes have announced a North American tour that's a little bizarre, to say the least. Beginning in Atlanta, GA on November 14, Koster and company will embark on a large tour where, instead of traditional venues, they will be caroling houses. That’s right, the band will be going door-to-door and singing a mix of Christmas carols and Music Tapes songs for your merry pleasure.

The band will be making Canadian stops in early December, canvassing Toronto and Montreal, and two unnamed Canadian locations in between. If you want to host a caroling party at your house, you can contact the band at this snail mail address:

The Music Tapes recently released their third full-length, Music Tapes for Clouds and Tornadoes, in August, while Koster just put out an album of Christmas carols under his name, titled The Singing Saw at Christmastime.
