Muse Are Releasing a Movie Connected to 'Simulation Theory'

It's been two years since Muse released their Simulation Theory LP, but the U.K. dystopia rockers aren't done with the project just yet. Instead, they've announced a movie based on the release.

The Simulation Theory movie was directed by their frequent collaborator Lance Drake, and it's both a concert film and a narrative story about a group of scientists who investigate a "paranormal anomaly."

"The goal for Simulation Theory was to capture the scale of the electrifying live show and to expand upon its connection to the DNA of the world we built for the past three years in music videos for Muse," Drake said in a statement. "In a strange turn, the film's alternate reality eerily started to mirror our own."

Simulation Theory will open in IMAX theatres on August 17 before hitting digital retailers on August 21. Watch its trailer below.
