Mune

'Falling Through Remixed' (album stream)

This spring, Exclaim! premiered the album Falling Through from Toronto indie rock sextet Mune. Next, we've got the premiere of the full-length companion collection Falling Through Remixed, which is out on August 28.

The album is made up of 10 tracks: all eight songs from Falling Through are accounted for, with "Fool My Senses" appearing three times. Mune already had an electronic undercurrent in their sound, and as you'd expect, the remix album emphasizes the group's synth-leaning side. Contributors include Beta Frontiers, Delta Will, Eytan Tobin and Most People's Brandon Gibson-DeGroote.

The general tone here is upbeat and danceable, ranging from the jittery chipmunk electro of Tobin's "Veritas" to the stark minimalism of Super Controller's "Instinct" to the twinkling thud of Duals' "Call to Arms" to the pop-friendly atmospherics of Gibson-DeGroote's "Fool My Senses." There are some moments of low-key ambience, but the prevailing mood here is one of fun.
