Lemmy Kilmister's health issues have interfered with Motörhead's tour plans as of late, but for those who are sad about the show cancellations, the veteran hard rock band are giving their fans a way to feel a whole lot better: they've just rolled out their very own line of sex toys.
The line is made by Lovehoney, and it's dubbed "The Official Pleasure Collection." A press release refers to the toys as having "the loudest buzz in the world." That sounds like a product flaw rather than a selling point, but we understand the point their trying to make.
There are four vibrators in all, including both bullets and torpedo-shaped items. The vibes are inspired by the albums Overkill (1979) and Ace of Spades (1980). Honestly, we can't believe they're not based on 1986's Orgasmatron or 1996's Overnight Sensation.
The products are available now. Lemmy said in a statement, "One of the songs on our debut album was called 'Vibrator' so we had to have our own one day, right?! Apparently, it was worth the wait!" Certainly, this ought to keep fans occupied once they've worn out their Rammstein dildo boxes.
Lovehoney co-founder Neal Slateford said in a statement, "We designed these classic vibes for both fans of Motörhead and rock lovers, as well as those who just want a cool looking toy to add to their collection. The range captures the rock and roll lifestyle of the band perfectly, and offers a unique counterpoint to the traditionally pink and purple toys that currently dominate the market."
Having cancelled or shortened a handful of shows, Motörhead's North American tour is expected to resume tonight (September 8) in St. Louis, MO.
