Montreal's Distorsion Psych Festival Announces Inaugural Edition

Inspired by festivals such as Levitation in Austin, Paris and Vancouver, Night Owl in Toronto and Les Nuit Psychédéliques in Quebec, Conspiration Psychédéliques Montreal have announced details behind a festival of their own called Distorsion.

An event dedicated to promoting of psychedelic music and arts, the festival's inaugural edition is set to take place from May 12 to 15. A press release promises its first outing to be "rich in its variety, all the while maintaining its DIY roots."

Set to host over a dozen performances, the inaugural lineup features Atsuko Chiba, UBBUURRUU, I.D.A.L.G., the High Dials, Pawa Up First, Crosss, Technical Kidman, Adam Strangler, Paul Jacobs, Happymovie, Tonnes, Eliza, Raccoon Fighter and Anemone.

Additionally, the festival marks the Canadian premiere of Adam Green's Aladdin, an independent rework of the classic tale that was written, directed, produced and composed by the Moldy Peaches member himself. The film also features Macaulay Culkin, Natasha Lyonne, Devendra Banhart, Regina Spektor, Andrew VanWyngarden of MGMT and more.

The first edition of Distorsion will take place at Matahari Loft in Montreal (1673 Mont-Royal East) from May 12 to 15. Weekend passes cost $20 and are available for purchase here. For further updates and festival information, follow the festival's Facebook page here.
