Edmonton hip-hop performer Mitchmatic (born Mitch Holtby) found a broad new audience when his song "Why Don't You Know?" was shared on NPR's All Songs Considered. Rather than milk the past, however, the artist has moved on to his next LP.
Called A Night Lost, the release is built on instrumentals from Philadelphia soul great Barbara Mason. These were produced by Mitch's brother Teddy Holtby. Still, the Mitch show remains our central focus as the artist weaves more of his clever, confessional raps.
