Each year, long-running Vancouver indie imprint Mint Records celebrates the holiday season with its Ridiculously Early Xmas Party. In keeping with tradition, Mint will be throwing its annual celebration on December 5 at the Astoria in Vancouver.
The night will feature performances from the bulk of Mint's current roster, including Monomyth, Renny Wilson, Jay Arner's side-project Energy Slime, Fake Tears, and a solo appearance from Faith Healer. Non-roster buddies Supermoon and Uptights are also on the bill.
The first 50 people to show up will be getting a goodie bag with presents, prizes and gift certificates. An announcement on Facebook adds, "We're giving away a super secret, extremely limited edition Mint release you won't find anywhere else!!" Last year, the label gave away a free cassette comp called Hot Heros, so we're excited to see what they have in store for this year.
In an act of holiday charity, Mint is matching cash raised at the door and donating it to Girls Rock Camp Vancouver, Safe Amplification Site Society, and the Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association.
