Millencolin

Pennybridge Pioneers

Swedish suburban Stockholm punkers Millencolin got a few things right. They recorded their third full-length album on Epitaph and managed to get Bad Religion front-man and Epitaph head honcho Brett Gurewitz to produce it. The album is solid, consistent and short. The band has an edge and attitude that's about more than whining about chicks and being "misunderstood" and "alienated." "Material Boy" is a good stab at flaky hippie types ditching the moral high ground for grubby consumer goods and turning into their parents. The last thing they did right was ditch any ska-punk they had and focus on the straight-up heavy sound.
