Both Miley Cyrus and the Flaming Lips have reputations for their lax policies regarding nudity, and now they're taking it to the next level. The collaborators are planning a bizarre show in which everyone — both onstage and in the audience — will be completely naked and covered in a milky substance.
Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne announced the news on Instagram today (October 13), as he posted photos (above) of both Cyrus and his band naked from the chest up. In the caption, he explained that the all-nude gig will be filmed and turned into a video for the track "Milky Milky Milk" from the recent Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz.
According to Coyne, "white stuff that looks like milk" will be "spewed everywhere" during the performance. It remains to be seen whether "milk" is going to be the first thing that jumps to viewers minds when they see a bunch of naked people getting sprayed with a white liquid.
It's not clear when or where this show will take place, or if it will be open to the public like a regular show.
This concept isn't entirely unprecedented for the Flaming Lips. Their controversy-sparking, and since-deleted 2012 video for "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" featured Erykah Badu's sister Nayrok in a tub, getting doused with — among other substances — white stuff that looked like milk.
