Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger took to Twitter today to share that he's tested positive for COVID-19, forcing the band to postpone their show in Amsterdam tonight.
In a statement, the 78-year-old rock star wrote, "the show will be rescheduled for a later date. Tickets for tonight's show will be honoured for the rescheduled date. Standby for details."
The band released an official statement of their own, writing:
The Rolling Stones have been forced to call off tonight's concert in Amsterdam at the Johan Cruijff Arena, following Mick Jagger testing positive after experiencing symptoms of COVID upon arrival at the stadium. The Rolling Stones are deeply sorry for tonight's postponement, but the safety of the audience, fellow musicians and the touring crew has to take priority.
There's been no real insight provided on how Jagger is doing post-diagnosis, but we wish him a speedy recovery. Jagger was previously forced to postpone several Stones shows after having a heart valve procedure in 2019.
