It's time for Metallica to do what they're best at: bilk their fans. This time, it'll be via charging suckers overblown rates for tickets to their anti-climactic live performances.
Recently announced on their official site, the band have scheduled a number of international dates for their World Magnetic Tour. Kicking off in Europe - where they're still presumably cool, given that Euro-trash is far more forgiving than Ameri-trash - the tour eventually winds its way around to North America in mid-September.
Don't fret if you don't see your closest major Canadian city listed just yet. The tour is far from complete and the band urge us to continue checking the itinerary regularly until our fears are quelled. Given that most Metallica jaunts last about two years, it's pretty much assured that they'll hit every town at some point.
That said, tickets to most announced shows, Canadian dates included, go on sale April 4, 2009. Those of you who still believe that being a part of the Metallica fan club is worthwhile should head over to metclub.com for some pre-sale information. The rest of us will have to wait.
