Joyful Noise Recordings is already sold out of its "Almost Live from Joyful Noise" single featuring sludge guys the Melvins and Le Butcherettes vocalist Teri Gender Bender, but a video for their cranked-up cover of Bikini Kill's classic "Rebel Girl" has gone up online for those who didn't manage to snag a copy.
As you'll see below, King Buzzo and his crew teamed up with Bender for a pretty playful and distorted take on the anthem about the "Queen of the Neighbourhood." A few gnarly riffs are slung, beats are hammered-down, and the Le Butcherettes singer manages to put a pretty impressive spin on Kathleen Hanna's terrifically 'tude-laced lines.
You'll find the fairly faithful run-through of the Bikini Kill anthem down below.
The record had arrived in a limited-edition run of 100 lathed-cut 7-inches. Forthcoming entries in the series have yet to be detailed.
