Three years after soul veteran Mavis Staples teamed up in the studio with Wilco's Jeff Tweedy to put together You Are Not Alone, the pair have announced a follow-up collaboration. Titled One True Vine, Staples' next set arrives June 25 through Anti-.

According to a press release, this latest 10-song collection finds Staples "traversing darker terrain with stark, acoustic arrangements," while adding that the singer delivers "the most honest, unvarnished vocal performances of her career." Tweedy produced the platter at his the Loft studio in Chicago, and lent his multi-instrumentalist touch to the recordings too, while his son Spencer took on drumming duties.

As far as the song selection goes, One True Vine features new tunes written for Staples like Tweedy original "Jesus Wept" and the Nick Lowe-penned "Far Celestial Shores," as well as several covers like a rework of Low's recent The Invisible Way track "Holy Ghost."
