We've been awaiting the new Mastodon LP for a long while, and now the details for the album have finally emerged.
The record is called Emperor of Sand, and it features 11 tracks from the veteran metal band.
As previously reported, the album offers up some heavy subject matter. Specifically, it's said to be about cancer.
Speaking with Rolling Stone, the band's Brann Dailor said, "Time is a very big theme of the album.... How much time do we have left? What are we doing with our time?" He added, "It's about going through cancer, going through chemotherapy and all the things associated with that. I didn't want to be literal about it. But it's all in there. You can read between the lines."
According to an iTunes listing discovered by Blabbermouth, Emperor of Sand is expected to arrive on March 31. The album's tracklisting is available below, while opening track "Sultan's Curse" is expected to arrive tomorrow (January 27).
