Sun Kil Moon's Mark Kozelek hasn't had the best of luck when it comes to shows in Ottawa. Last year, his appearance in the nation's capital was overshadowed by a beef with the War on Drugs, while just last week, Kozelek cancelled his slot at CityFolk "due to unorganized promoters."
Kozelek promised that fans could look forward to his rendition of "Dream Police" by Cheap Trick at Sun Kil Moon's Toronto show, and last night (September 21) at the Opera House, he delivered it in the form of a song called "Ottawa Bluesfest Is Run By Inbreds."
Last week's cancellation was apparently prompted by what Kozelek deemed to be too many organizational emails on behalf of the promoter — and you can hear him sing about the array of subject lines in the scathing new song.
