'Mad Men' Remembered with 'Retrospective' Soundtrack

BY Alex HudsonPublished Sep 18, 2015

Mad Men ended earlier this year, and fans can now relive Don, Peggy and the gang's journey in musical form, since the show will be documented by a sprawling soundtrack called Retrospective: The Music of Mad Men.

The 24-track album is largely composed of era-appropriate music that appeared on the beloved AMC drama, including selections from Bob Dylan, Frank Sinatra, the Beach Boys, Roy Orbison, Judy Collins (with a cover of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now"), the Zombies and more.

There's also an anachronistic soundtrack selection from the Decembrists, plus songs from actors Christina Hendricks, Robert Morse, Jessica Paré and more. The whole things kicks of with Mad Men's theme song, "A Beautiful Mine" by RJD2. A couple of cuts from David Carbonara's original score are also included.

Retrospective: The Music of Mad Men will be out digitally on October 9 through Chop Shop Music/Republic Records. It's available on double vinyl, digital download, or in a special package with a Crosley turntable. These can be ordered here.
