Luna Chronicle First Five LPs with New Box Set

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jun 5, 2015

Indie pop veterans Luna recently reunited for a string of shows in Spain, then revealed plans to bring the live show to North America this fall. Now, in addition to expanding the fall tour, the band have unveiled a brand new box set celebrating their work from the 1990s.

Titled Luna: Long Players (92-99), the set will arrive in late fall or early winter via Captured Tracks. As the collection's title implies, it contains the band's releases from their 1992 debut Lunapark through to 1999's The Days of Our Nights. Also included are Bewitched (1994), Penthouse (1994) and Pup Tent (1995).

In addition to the band's first five records, there will also be a sixth LP titled Rarities composed of demos and B-sides. You can see the full tracklisting for that disc below. A 12x12 book will complete the box set, containing an interview with frontman Dean Wareham conducted by director Noah Baumbach. The pair have previously collaborated, with Wareham contributing music to The Squid and the Whale and flexing his acting chops in several of Baumbach's films.

A few additions to the previously announced fall tour have also been made, and you can see the full updated list below. Toronto's show at the Danforth Music Hall on October 13 remains the group's sole Canadian date.
