Luna Reunite for Their First Shows in a Decade

BY Josiah HughesPublished Oct 28, 2014

Reunion fever won't seem to go away, as more and more bands are picking up where they left off, burying differences and/or brushing off old material to revisit past projects. The latest band hopping on the bandwagon is seminal New York indie rock outfit Luna.

Following the demise of Galaxie 500, the group was initially formed by Dean Wareham alongside the Feelies' Stanley Demesky and the Chills' Justin Harwood. The lineup eventually shifted and settled on the more steady lineup of Lee Wall, Sean Eden and Britta Phillips (who would later marry Wareham in 2007).

Luna existed in one form or another from 1991 to 2005, playing their final show at the Bowery Ballroom in February of 2005.

More than a decade after that date, the group will return for a handful of tour dates. So far, the only confirmed shows see the group travelling through Spain, though we wouldn't be surprised if that changed.

The touring lineup of Luna sees Wareham performing alongside Wall, Eden and Phillips. Their full batch of confirmed dates is available below.

UPDATE: As suspected, Wareham has confirmed Luna will play some U.S. reunion shows as well.
