We've been waiting for what feels like an eternity to get our hands on Lorde's follow-up to 2013's Pure Heroine. As promised, she's finally given us some new material with the new single and video for "Green Light." It's the first single from her new album, which is called Melodrama.
The song is an emotive pop anthem that opens with piano and vocals before exploding with its fist-pumper of a chorus. It's been accompanied by some grainy visuals from director Grant Singer, who follows Lorde as she embarks on a night out.
In addition to the song, Lorde confirmed the Melodrama album title in an Instagram post, where she also shared the album's cover art. The image, available above, is a painting by Sam McKinniss. The album is due out this summer via LAVA/Republic.
