"Could You Wait 'Til I've Had My Coffee?" on Exclaim! TV

BY Emily JohnpullePublished Sep 28, 2016

The last time 26-year-old Canadian folk-rocker Lisa LeBlanc stopped by Exclaim! TV, she was in the midst of promoting her 2014 EP Highways, Heartaches and Time Well Wasted. Now, with LeBlanc gearing up to release her album Why You Wanna Leave, Runaway Queen? on September 30, Exclaim! TV is proud to present more from her performance at Canadian Music Week's Bonsound showcase in May. Below, watch LeBlanc perform "Could You Wait 'Til I've Had My Coffee?" from the forthcoming album.

LeBlanc begins the song by calmly asking the titular question, "Could you at least wait 'til I've had my coffee before you break up with me?" But as the song progresses, she grows more aggravated with her ex. The pace quickens, the rhythm hardens and she ultimately proclaims, "See you later, or never, ciao, bye."
