League of Wolves

'Like It Should Be' (EP stream)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Apr 1, 2016

Saskatoon rockers League of Wolves released their self-titled debut album just last year, but they're already set to follow it up with a brand new EP titled Like It Should Be. It doesn't officially land until next week, but Exclaim! is giving you the chance to stream the record in its entirety right now.

Like It Should Be hears the four-piece working with former Sheepdogs guitarist Leot Hanson, who slowly morphed from a mentor and pal into a fully functioning member of the band.

"Eventually we began writing and exchanging ideas and making music together," bandmate Aspen Beveridge explains. "Leot had a huge part in the creative process and in the production of the songs in the studio. His guitar playing has a signature tone and a unique impact on everything he plays on."

Hanson's addition took the band in a new sonic direction, and it's that new sound, approach and feeling that inspired the EP's title. The new set of songs was recorded in an abandoned school in the Saskatchewan village of Piapot and was engineered by the band's own Beveridge.

The classic rock vibe of the new EP gets infused with a modern edge and twangy bursts of blues throughout, making for a hearty, Canadian roots rock sound. Hear it for yourself by giving Like It Should Be an early listen in the player below.

The EP officially arrives on April 8.
