Laura Marling's Once I Was an Eagle will arrive on May 28 through Ribbon Music, and the British folk songwriter is sharing a chunk of the album ahead of time thanks to short film soundtracked by the LP's first four songs.
The 18-minute film, directed by Fred & Nick, is called When Brave Bird Saved. Each song is introduced with a new chapter in the film, and the visuals are as elegantly restrained as the music itself. This means lots of slow motion camera work, elegantly dressed extras and classy-looking sets.
Fred & Nick said in a statement, "When Brave Bird Saved is an introduction to a visual journey directly inspired, informed and narrated by the first four tracks of Once I Was An Eagle. Having collaborated with Laura over the last four years, the ambition and scope of this film marks an exciting new direction for us - and we were given total freedom to focus strongly on the distinct journey of the four tracks"
