Against Me!'s Laura Jane Grace to Release 'Tranny' Memoir

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Mar 21, 2016

Against Me! frontwoman Laura Jane Grace is set to tell her story in a new book titled Tranny: Confessions of Punk Rock's Most Infamous Anarchist Sellout. As announced today (March 21) via Twitter, the memoir is due out on November 15 on Hachette Books.

To pen the project, Grace teamed up with Noisey editor Dan Ozzi, who told Entertainment Weekly, "The book mixes narrative about Laura's life — growing up with dysphoria and playing in our generation's most influential punk band — with amazing journal entries she's been keeping since she was a kid."

Grace previously teased the book back in 2014. "It's tour journals, really," she told Exclaim! at the time. "Kind of like [Henry Rollins'] Get in the Van, but a little more transsexual. I've kept tour journals since we've started. So 10, 15 years of touring. Hopefully it'll be out early next year. I'm behind deadline, to be honest [laughs], so I'm working as fast as I can."

Well, it's finally ready and the cover keeping a lid on the forthcoming stories is pictured above.

Against Me!'s most recent release was 2015's 23 Live Sex Acts. Grace publicly came out as transgender in 2012, addressing her transition on 2014's Transgender Dysphoria Blues.
