After yesterday's shocking announcement that Kanye West and Lady Gaga have cancelled their joint tour, more light has been shed on why the dates were scratched. In an interview with Billboard, Gaga said that both she and Kanye decided to call off the "Fame Kills" shows, adding that she plans to head out on her own headlining tour and that Kanye will be taking a vacation from the spotlight.

"It was a mutual decision," Gaga said. "Kanye's going to take some time off. But the good news is that I'm going on tour in a few weeks."

Gaga didn't say much more about the decision to can the tour, but Lori Ann Gibson, the choreographer working with Gaga for the "Fame Kills" shows, pointed to "creative differences" between the Gaga and West via a post on her Twitter.

Also, TMZ has come out with a story claiming that the tour was cancelled due to poor ticket sales. "We're told his concert tour with Lady Gaga was scrapped because ticket sales sucked," TMZ writes. "And 'sucked' happens to be a nicer version of the word we were told."

TMZ went on to add fuel the choreographer's speculations, writing, "Our insiders say another factor in the cancellation was West and Gaga's people were at each others throats like their last names were Gosselin."

As previously reported, there are rumours that Kanye's "time off" will involve a trip to rehab. But at this point, they remain only rumours.
