Earlier this morning (January 31), former Das Racist rapper Kool A.D. showed off a new solo song called "Eroika", and now it's been revealed the track will be on one of two freebie mixtapes dropping next week.
Pitchfork reports that Kool A.D. is delivering both 19 and 63 next Thursday (February 7) as a double-album collection of rarities, collaborations and out-takes. The albums, like his 2012 tape 51, are named after Bay Area bus lines.
New number "NPR" features a beat supplied by the Beastie Boys' Ad-Rock, which was apparently sent to Das Racist a few years back, but never used. The tapes also feature production work from Kool A.D. himself, as well as Young L, SKYWLKR, Keyboard Kid, Trackademicks, Amaze 88 and more. Kanye West is listed as the producer of "Exotische Kunst," but Pitchfork reports this is a sample, and not a new beat.
On top of Kool A.D.'s own spitting, you've got features from the likes of Busdriver, Spank Rock, Anti-pop Consortium's Beans, Lakutis, Chippy Nonstop and more. Take this how you want to, but it appears as if Will Smith doesn't appear on "Fresh Prince," nor do Totally Krossed Out rappers Kris Kross appear on Kool A.D.'s titular tribute.
