KINLEY

"Golden Days" (video)

Former Hey Rosetta! player KINLEY has treated another track off her debut solo album Letters Never Sent to a music video.

For the "Golden Days" visuals, she's teamed up once again with Jenna MacMillan — fresh off the duo's East Coast Music Award win for Fans' Choice Video of the Year for "Microphone." KINLEY also took home the prize for Rising Star Recording of the Year.

The latest clip serves as an homage to the collaborators' shared home province of Prince Edward Island. It was filmed at Blooming Point Beach, and serves as a reminder to Islanders who have left home for opportunities to the west.

"They followed the setting sun where there is more opportunity to make money, but maybe lost sight of other things," KINLEY tells Exclaim! "It's a (loving or gentle?) suggestion that maybe they come home and enjoy the simpler things in life."

She notes that it's also a call home to members of the LGBTQ community who left PEI because they felt unable to fully be themselves.

"I know PEI can be a bit behind the times but we are getting more progressive every day and there are a lot of people working hard to make everyone feel included and like they can be themselves," she said.
