Kevin Drew Details New Solo Album 'Aging,' Shares Two Singles

Broken Social Scene bandleader Kevin Drew has announced his solo follow-up to 2021's Influences (which was released under the moniker K.D.A.P., or Kevin Drew a Picture).

His latest foray under his own name, titled Aging, is said to live between the sonic worlds of BSS's "Lover's Spit" and "The Sweetest Kill." It arrives November 3 via Arts & Crafts.

What originally started as a children's album, with Drew recording alongside longtime collaborator Nyles Spencer at the Tragically Hip's Bathouse studio near Kingston, inversely evolved into a meditation on getting older. Made to be played at the end of the night, the "contemplative" Aging finds Drew ruminating on love, loss and illness.

"Pain is a hard thing to let go until you're ready," Drew explained in a release. "And that's kind of where I was at with this record. Music, for me, is a release — it's a place where I can go and express what it is that I want to say."

Today, he shares two singles from the record, "Out in the Fields" and "Party Oven," both of which you can hear below. There, you'll also find the album's tracklist.

Aging:

1. Elevator
2. Out in the Fields
3. Party Oven
4. All Your Fails
5. Don't Be Afraid of the Dark
6. Awful Lightning
7. Fixing the Again
8. You're Gonna Get Better
