Katy Perry is currently taking her recent Witness album on tour, and last night's fans got to witness something memorable indeed during her Nashville show. Thanks to a malfunction, Perry's floating stage was suspended mid-air for an uncomfortable stretch of time.
Rather than come down when it was supposed to, Perry was forced to make awkward small talk while swaying through the stadium air. "I could be stuck here forever," she joked. "What should I do? Should I tell some jokes, should I tell some stories, should I just sing another song?"
Fortunately, the stage had its power restored and was lowered enough that Perry could hop into the crowd and resume the show. In other words, it was a playful malfunction that had no serious consequence (no one lost a toe, for example).
