Shadows & Dust

BY Sean PalmerstonPublished Nov 1, 2002

The Northern hyper-blast beast from the province of Quebec is back and this time around it's a mixed bag of death metal that they deliver. There is old-school, early '90s death metal with lots of blast-beats intertwined with chugging, punishing riffs, as well as some very melodic guitar work, which is actually quite soothing. The vocals from long-time band veteran Maurizio Iacono aren't delivered in an original style, but fit well with the band's style; this isn't exactly prog metal they are playing. Overall, this is another solid release by this Montreal band. Look for Canadian tour dates soon.
