Drake can keep his perch atop the CN Tower as far as K-os is concerned. The Toronto rap vet has a better view from the countryside as evidenced by Views from the Stix, a collection of freestyles and demos put together in just three weeks.

Like the title implies, Views from the Stix was recorded in a rural area outside of Whitby, ON, down the highway from the big city bustle of the 6ix. The tape features bars from Saukrates, as well as production from Kaytranada.

"As a recording artist I've always tried to remain the observer," K-os told Consequence of Sound. "This is a hard thing to do in the music industry — especially if you've attained any level of success or fame which makes you 'The Observed.' Hip-hop is the music of the underdog, and when artists start 'winning' and become part of 'the game,' one can inherently lose the ability to see the forest for the trees."

K-os' last full-length release was Can't Fly Without Gravity in 2015. Stream Views from the Stix in its entirety below.
