Justin Bieber Talks Working Relationship with Kanye West, Jesus Christ

It just might be the year of redemption for Justin Bieber, as the Ontario-bred pop superstar has stopped getting arrested and started releasing bangers again. In fact, the artist is currently holed up in the studio with Rick Rubin and Kanye West.

In a new cover story with Complex, Bieber explained how he can't wait for the world to hear his new music. "I'll hear songs on the radio, and I'm not really a fan of what's going on right now in music," he said. "I'll hear it and go, 'Ugh, why is this being played so much right now?' I have such great music that I want to share with the world."

He also explained how Kanye West stands out from other producers. "It's his creative input," Bieber said. "I'll play a song, and he'll be like, 'Man this reminds me of like... a blacklight sunset,' or something.  He'll try to paint these pictures for you."

"It's not the average way," the Biebs continued. "He doesn't just come in and say, 'This sounds good; this sounds bad.' He'll be like, 'This is this because the world needs this.' He comes from a whole different point of view."

Yeezus isn't the only one getting daps from the Biebs, however. He's also got a lot to say about Jesus. Speaking about his various run-ins with the law and paparazzi, Bieber opened up about his own Christianity. Criticizing others for being "overly churchy," he said, "Like I said, you don't need to go to church to be a Christian. If you go to Taco Bell, that doesn't make you a taco." Hard to argue with that logic.

Other topics discussed include Bieber's relationship with Selena Gomez (he claims they were basically "married" at 18), his notorious bucket-peeing incident ("Dude, what is bratty about pissing in a bucket? I had to go piss—we all have to pee") and his DUI arrest ("I might have had a beer earlier in the day or something"). Read the full interview here.
