It's been almost exactly a year since July Talk released their self-titled debut album, and the bluesy Toronto rock band are preparing to give it the deluxe treatment by releasing an extended version with some additional tracks. It's due out on October 15 through Sleepless Records (formerly known as White Girl Records)/Universal.
This version of the album adds four additional tunes, but rather than simply tacking them onto the end, July Talk have inserted them into the tracklist. New cuts "Headsick," "Summer Dress" and "My Neck" are sequenced together in the middle of the album, while "Black Lace" is towards the end.
Vocalist Peter Dreimanis said in a statement, "We've always felt that the first record is a good introduction to the band and the conversation between [co-vocalist] Leah [Fay] and I. It was important to us to add new material because we didn't feel like that introduction was finished. We've been on the road all year, a lot has happened and there is simply more to say."
The new tracklist is below. Scroll past that to see the band's upcoming tour schedule, which includes a heap of Canadian shows stretching from coast to coast over the next couple of months.
