Joshua Hyslop

"The Spark"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Apr 12, 2016

Vancouver-based troubadour Joshua Hyslop has been showing off his latest record In Deepest Blue with cuts like "The Flood" and "Gone." Now, he's about to embark on a fresh set live shows, and to kick off the latest string of tour dates, he's shared a brand new song called "The Spark."

The upcoming shows will take the singer-songwriter through Eastern Canada with Royal Wood, before heading south of the border for a bunch of dates with Good Old War. Following the stateside trek, Hyslop and Royal Wood will reteam for a final pair of dates in the summer. Check out the full itinerary below.

Before you head out to see him live, be sure to check out the premiere of "The Spark." The idea for the song came to Hyslop after reading C.S. Lewis's The Great Divorce.

"I was inspired by the idea that there is always hope regardless of how hopeless things can feel," he explains.

That optimistic feeling comes through on the folksy new track, and you can give it spin right now. The song will get an official release on April 15 through Nettwerk.
